INFORMATION FOR ADULT ADVISORS
Adult Advisors serve make the whole Youth in Government experience possible. Adults help prepare students for their
Model Assembly or
Model United Nations participation during local delegation meetings. They help the Delegation Director supervise students at statewide conferences and events. At all times, they are caring resource people who students can depend on. Advisors help ensure the quality and excellence of the entire Youth in Government program.
The State Office requires that each YMCA Youth in Government delegation have one adult supervisor per every 10 students and that all advisors be at least 21 years of age. Advisor responsibilities include:

Assist the Delegation Director with student recruitment

Participate in local delegate preparation and training sessions

Supervise local delegation meetings and at conference events

Serve as program area advisor conferences and supervise evening activities, etc.
